Heater Repairs

People do not think of cold weather when they think of Florida, but Pensacola’s record low of 5 degrees was recorded in January, 1985. The average January low temperature is 43 degrees and can occur with little warning.
If your heater is not working, service is required to keep your home or business safe and comfortable. If you smell gas, if your furnace produces little or no heat, call us at 850.471.9400 to schedule a service call.

The furnace can be gas or electric, but in our area it is most often natural gas or propane. The furnace and an evaporator coil take the place of the air handler. If your system has gas or propane heat, you have a furnace. Furnaces have ignition systems, safety controls and a heat exchanger, all of which are prone to failure.

 Heat Pump Condensing Unit

The Heat Pump condensing unit consists of the condensing coil, compressor, blower fan, controls and it will have a reversing valve. The condensing unit is located outside. In Heat Pump Mode it pumps heat from the outside to the inside. Heat pumps are very efficient. Problems can include compressor failure, corroded coils, contactors, capacitors, power issues, relays, reversing valves and refrigerant leaks.

The thermostat is located on an interior wall at eye level and controls the mode: heat, cool, emergency heat, the indoor fan and the temperature setting. The most common problems are that the thermostat is not set correctly or the batteries need replacing.

These are parts of all heating systems. Depending on the make and model of your unit, there are other components that might also need to be serviced. We are knowledgeable on these components as well:

  • Duct systems
  • Filters
  • UV lights
  • Zoned systems
  • Mini-split heat pumps or ductless systems

No matter what repairs or replacements you need, the Air Care Wizard Team can handle it for you. If you have any questions, give us a call at 850.471.9400. We can answer your questions or we will find someone who can.
